Focus and Scope

The Asian Journal of Internal Medicine is the official journal of the Sri Lanka College of Internal Medicine. It is a peer-reviewed journal which is currently published bi-annually. There are few unique features of AJIM. We publish at least two research articles of the highest standard per volume. The journal has five sections; 1. Research and audit section, 2. Case reports, case series and images, 3. Ethics and humanities, 4. Reviews and perspectives, 5. Editorial and leading articles.

We want to encourage academic writing among the clinicians and academics in the field of Internal Medicine. Our mission is to disseminate high quality scientific medical knowledge among the stakeholders to achieve the supreme standards of patient care in a holistic manner throughout Asia and beyond. The journal provides open access to its content to the public with the aim of disseminating the scientific knowledge to a wider audience.

We give priority to the articles with Asian flavor. We aim to develop a journal that has a distinctive Asian perspective to internal medicine we practice. In this age of digital hyperconnectivity, we feel it is possible to collaborate and synergize across national borders and showcase our unique Asian identities in Internal Medicine.
